Start with the load

Record the material or product, its dimensions, weight and condition. Bulk solids and packaged goods present different handling problems. A photograph is useful context, but it cannot replace a clear description of the load.

Describe the route

Document the available footprint, transfer points, changes in elevation and upstream and downstream equipment. Separate the required production rate from occasional peaks. Give the supplier enough information to review the complete system.

Compare the complete scope

Ask each supplier to identify what is included: supports, drives, controls, guarding, installation and commissioning. An equipment price is only useful when the supply boundaries are clear. Request application-specific evidence rather than relying on a general performance claim.

This guide introduces questions and requirements for further review. It does not replace engineering assessment, equipment instructions or site safety procedures.
